The startup folder can also be accessed by entering the full path into the Windows Explorer address field: C:\Users\%YourName%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startupīut what if the program's shortcut is unavailable on the desktop? In this case you open the startup folder, right-click on the empty space, select New → Shortcut. Here, you simply paste the shortcut by right-clicking on the empty space and selecting Paste. Type " shell:startup" without quotation marks and click OK. Then, open the Run dialog box by pressing the Win+R combination. If you have the program's shortcut on the desktop, right-click on it and select Copy from the pop-up menu. (Note that the options will be disabled if you're using a system that's managed by your business using a domain or Azure AD account.Among different ways to add a program to the startup list, the easiest and, I suppose, the most universal one is just copying the program's shortcut to the startup folder (a special Windows folder that contains programs' shortcuts which autostart with the system). That takes you to the dialog box shown here. To do that, open File Explorer, right-click the OneDrive shortcut in the folder pane on the left and then click OneDrive > Manage OneDrive Backup. If you like the idea of having a cloud-based backup, you might want to check its settings.
If you already have a solid backup strategy, you might want to turn that feature off. If you click through the default options, Microsoft will redirect your Desktop, Documents, and Pictures folder to OneDrive, which effectively backs up everything you put in any of those folders. That feature includes a setting that can be confusing if you aren't paying attention. You get at least 5GB of free cloud storage in Microsoft's OneDrive service when you sign in with a Microsoft account. And if you have multiple displays, be sure to click Taskbar Behaviors to go through the options for how the taskbar works on a second monitor.
Expand the Taskbar Corner Overflow section to control which icons appear on the right side of the taskbar by default. There's some good stuff at the bottom of that Settings page, too. Get rid of taskbar clutter by sliding those top four witches to the Off position
